No Idea is Too Big or Too Small
The mantra of the Learning & Technology Team is: No idea is too big or too small. From looking for cool presentation software to developing an "epic" video game or dabbling in virtual reality, the only limit is one's imagination.
Digital Citizenship
Digital Citizenship centers on identifying and fostering appropriate uses of technology. Our children were born digital natives, but should be taught to be safe, responsible digital citizens. Digital Citizenship curriculum is based on the 9 elements of digital citizenship from the International Society for Technology in Education or ISTE. It provides students with the essentials needed to make ethical and informed decisions about the powerful technological tools at their disposal.
Macbook Air Laptops
Students in grades 7 through 12 receive a Macbook Air laptop for use in school and to take home. Students use this technology for digital books or lessons, as well as to research, write, or create using more sophisticated applications, such as those for editing video and audio. All students will create some videos as part of their educational experience.
Chromebooks
Students in grades 5 through 6 receive a Chromebook laptop with an integrated pen, tablet features, and a touch screen. Chromebooks, which are durable and easy to use, are a great way to introduce younger students to school-related devices and applications. These are simple to use, yet offer students and teachers access to thousands of education applications. Students begin by leaving their Chromebooks at school overnight, but work their way up to taking devices home—a big responsibility that's earned through experience and digital citizenship training.

These remarks were shared by former Head of School Mark Davis:
By overwhelming acclaim, you, the faculty and staff requested – I should probably say demanded – that we give this year’s award not to a single person, as we customarily do, but instead to an utterly incredible team.
And what exactly did you recognize in your acclaim? Well, what we all see every day – that this team gets notably better all the time. However, this year, they have astounded everyone. During this pandemic, they've been working harder than ever, which is saying a lot, because they are always working very hard. That they solved problems before we even knew we had them. That they are not just willing, but in fact eager to help faculty and students – they even showed up to our houses to hand-deliver the tools we needed to do our jobs. That our lessons are more dynamic because of the help they offered, and that everyone feels comfortable coming to them for help has been universally recognized. And that without their infinite patience, unparalleled knowledge and skill, their willingness to go above and beyond, and their grace, subtlety, and good humor, St. Luke's would never have been able to thrive and excel the way that we have as an independent school during this pandemic, everyone here knows to be undeniably true.
